A classic side dish, green beans are eaten in the pod, unlike other beans.  The rich flavor and crunchy texture make them easy to prepare by steaming, boiling, adding to stir-fry or baking in casseroles.  They pair well with mushrooms, fresh herbs, butter, nuts and lemon.

Behind the painting “Blue Harvest”:

When Bill and I bought land on Stahlbush Island, we loved the lush greenery and thriving wildlife produced by the waterways around the farm. We knew we wanted to protect it. That’s why, in 1997, we were the first farm to become certified sustainable by the Food Alliance. “Blue Harvest” was inspired not only by the thriving life around the farm, but also by the beautiful vegetables that share the benefits of this same environment. – Karla S.
